In 2013, I moved from La Habana to Santa Ana, California. I spoke no English, had no money, no degree, no friends, no network, and no real way to connect with anyone—just like many other immigrants starting from scratch.

At my lowest moment, a banker took advantage of me by withholding critical financial information and omitting important disclosures.

 

But other bankers—the ones who truly understood the meaning of integrity—helped me become not only a better entrepreneur but also a better person. With their guidance, I learned how to avoid falling into the traps of bad debt.

Every day, I’m grateful for the bankers who go above and beyond to help people, even when they have no personal connection or reason to do so. They embody a core value we hold in Cuba: Do good, no matter for whom ("Haz bien y no mires a quién").

These bankers saw me as more than just a transaction—they saw me as a human being with dreams and potential.

 

As entrepreneurs, our money must work for us at all times. And if, like me, you come from nothing, you have to do everything possible to surround yourself with people who elevate you in your business journey.

 

In today’s world, honest bankers should be the standard but sadly, they are not.

 

Fair lending practices should be common sense but often, they are not.

 

Finding great bankers who help you grow financially should be easy, but it’s almost impossible.

 

The internet, unfortunately, doesn’t prioritize good people—it prioritizes those with big budgets.

 

This is why I created GeeGoals. My commitment is to provide you with a platform where you can find the best bankers and lenders based on your industry and location. For the next 30 years, it will be my mission to ensure GeeGoals is about more than just business it’s about uplifting people.
